Metropolitan Tanzania was part of the Momentum Metropolitan Holdings (MMH) which is one of the largest insurers in Africa and listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. However, MMH took a strategic decision to exit from several African countries to focus on certain core areas.
The local shareholders of Metropolitan Tanzania bought over the South African interests and thus was born Meticulous General Insurance Company Limited in June 2021.
